FANS AT THE BENDS
Our grandstand has always lined the longest straight, which is a lovely place to watch from and the one place on the circuit where nobody ever crashes. Real fans know better. They stand at the bends, behind a bit of fence, where the action is.
So every race now has a few knots of spectators out on the corners, hairpins first, standing two deep behind a white fence just beyond the barrier. They cheer as the pack sweeps past and fidget between laps, same as the people in the big stand.

You can guess the rest. Come into that hairpin too fast and you go through the tyre wall, over the fence and straight into the crowd, who go up in the air with their hats and their popcorn and come down dazed but fine. The gap you leave stays there for the rest of the race.

These are captures from the native Windows desktop build. It's slapstick, not gore: nobody gets hurt, and nothing about the race changes. A wreck flies exactly as far as it did before and the spectators never get in a car's way.
