PIT NOTES

Updates from the workshop, straight off the bench.

ARTHUR MEETS THE CROSSROADS

Arthur has spent most of Driver School telling you where you went wrong. On the final lap, he gets a practical demonstration of his own. He waits at the crossroads, the pupil arrives from the other direction, and the normal collision does the talking.

Seventy years in the slot. One poorly chosen parking spot.

Then he explains stability: the stat that helps a car stay in its slot during contact. Speed and Ram still have their say. It is a lesson, so Arthur does not start a career grudge over it.

The first slow bend now gets room to happen before Arthur explains Handling: maximum corner speed. Brake Power slows the approach. His encouragement follows the next bend; the card timer waits for the lap counter, and Boost gets another stretch of driving before its introduction.

The finish needed better manners too. Previously, taking your time with the dialogue could let the car creep past its exit, forcing an awkward correction when the new road appeared. It now slows smoothly to a complete stop before the bend. We left the verdict open for twelve seconds to check. Driver School also bypasses the normal victory screen, even when left unattended.

Take your time. The exit will still be there.

Arthur now says goodbye while the car slows, then it picks up speed and drives straight onto the changing road. It grows gradually throughout the whole drive, reaching the usual bridge size at the sponsor desk. The move from its original slot into the highway lane stretches across the transformation too. The road still unfolds from racetrack to highway to causeway.
